What is “Project Based” sewing?
Since learning to sew embodies such a wide range of skills, this helps us narrow it down in a way custom designed for you.
The skill of sewing can positively influence everyone’s life, whether you want to learn how to make your own pillow cases, bags, or clothes, I’ll help you learn how to sew it.

Located on Imperial and Commerce in Downtown Las Vegas, this Coop features many female-founded small businesses.
For our first session together, we will meet at Akin Cooperative at a pre-arranged date/time with your sewing machine, [or mine, upon request]. I’ll provide all supplies. Fabric/pattern will also already be arranged.

What we can sew: purses, bucket hats, tote bags, accessory pouches, holiday gifts, toddler/infant clothing.

Yes! I prefer you to come with your pattern pre-printed, but if you need help printing, I can print in black and white for an extra cost of $8.
Putting a pattern together can sometimes be time consuming so just remember that it will take about 30 minutes of our time together.

I can help point you in the direction of a type of fabric to buy and where to buy it! First, I need to know what you want to make, so please fill out the form above to the best of your ability and include any pattern links or photos!

Sewing includes such a wide variety of skills. Most I am still learning myself!
I have found it always best to start with something you want to make, use, and that way we can use our own inspiration to guide our creative learning process. Sewing is a lot of, figuring out how something works, so the more passionate and excited you are about the thing you are figuring out how to make, the better!
And you can learn a wide variety of skills you can use for other projects as well!

YES! We can definitely adventure into this together. I recommend discussing a bundle package for this as pattern making is a time consuming process and involves many drafts.
